You’re forgiven if you think that hearing loss mostly affects only older adults. After all, we know that two-thirds of people over 70 and four-fifths of folks 85 and older have hearing loss.
But it’s important to remember that hearing loss does not discriminate by age, as today’s hearing fact proves. Hearing loss can start anytime. Interestingly enough, our hearing is at its peak between ages 18-25.
The World Health Organization, who provided today’s fact, does offer some hope. In their booklet, Millions of people in the world have hearing loss that can be treated or prevented, they note that public health measures “can effectively reduce hearing loss” and that “the majority of cases can be treated through early diagnosis and proven interventions.”
We can help you get that early diagnosis and treatment. Either start with our free online hearing test, or call 1-888-908-1845 or click here, and we will help you find a local hearing healthcare professional who you can talk to.
