In a blog post published just last year, Adele Sandberg, founder of Ear Peace — a non-profit organization dedicated to educating people about noise-induced hearing loss — noted the shocking statistic that is in today’s Hearing Fact Friday.
Noise-induced hearing loss — a completely preventable condition — is the second most common cause of hearing loss, which, itself, is the third most common physical condition affecting adults (after arthritis and heart disease). But, as noted, it is preventable.
This being National Protect Your Hearing Month, now is a good time to keep good hearing loss prevention measures top of mind and implement them into your daily life. It’s a loud world, but there’s no reason to let it damage your hearing — and quality of life.
